Fires

Here is a link to a map of the fires in California.

We aren't being directly threatened by a fire as of now. Just wanted to post an entry so that no one was worried. But there are hundreds of people in San Diego that are losing their houses as we speak. Some of them are families of friends. John and Christy's families are being evacuated right now from San Diego and Escondido. They are headed up here to stay with them, and we will be taking in (any guesses??) some of their animals. I think a couple adult dogs and maybe some puppies. I offered our hide-a-bed, but it looks like, as of now, a place for the dogs in needed more. So, we will do what we can do.

Please just say a prayer for those are in strange places, those that are currently racing away from a fire, and those that have already lost their homes and all of their possessions. As I understand it, there have only been 1 or 2 deaths, which is sad, but I'm so glad there aren't more. Most people are getting out in time. There just aren't alot of places for them to go, especially with their dogs and cats.

I'll try to keep updating, please feel free to stop by as often as you need to.

Hi - We HAVE been thinking of you guys. The Santa Ana winds usually blow from the desert to the ocean, so was thinking you were probably not being impacted by smoke as badly as other areas. But afterwhile it can get pretty thick everywhere no matter which way the wind blows - as we found out this summer here in Idaho. Thanks for posting and letting us know what's going on. It's hard to tell from the news sometimes where exactly the fires are. Nicki White said they may have to evacuate the Masters College in Santa Clarita so we're already on a prayer vigil for them. Love you lots - glad you can help out! I'm sure your arm wasn't twisted too hard to take care of extra animals.

I've been thinking about you guys. I'm glad you're okay. There was a story on the news last night about all the people with pets who have nowhere to go. It's so great of you to help with that!
