Some good things

I stole this idea from Kelly, just want to give credit where credit is due. A short list of good things about our weekend:

*Brunch out at Richie's Diner
*A quiet drive through wine country
*Hanging out at home as a family
*Arriving at church together!!!
*A leisurely trip to PetsMart
*A good time with the ladies at a candle party
*Jude and Dad trip to the sports park to watch baseball and play kickball
*Yummy pizza casserole with Micah and Erica
*Peppermint Ice Cream

Just another little Judah conversation to share. I can't get enough of the way his little brain works!

Tonight, on our way home from Micah and Erica's house:

J: We need to get some gas in the car
B: Well, no, we don't need gas in the car right now
J: Cause we need to get gas in the car to go to home
A: Judah, when did you get so smart?
J: I don't know
A: Who taught you to be that smart?
J: I don't know...*long pause*...I think Micah

Giving Daddy Advice

Recent conversation between Brent and Judah on the way home from Home Depot (a man trip that mommy didn't go on) :

J: Daddy, don't drive too fast, you'll run into people.
B: Ok, Judah, I'll try to be careful.
J: Ok, Dad, that's a good idea.

Sorry everyone.. .. ..no Hollywood... :(

I kind of forgot that I had posted that, until some comments were made. Sorry! We woke up Saturday morning with no plan of where to go, what to see, or in what order. LA is really quite a commitment, and I HATE heading up there without a PLAN! SO I talked Brent out of it fairly quickly. We decided to make a plan of attack, and then head up there some weekend in February. Plus we would like to use the same trip up there to visit with the Williams. They are some ABWE missionaries some of you would know. Brent spent 5 weeks with Geoff in Columbia one year, and then 2 another year. Brent and Geoff really bonded, and have developed a great friendship. Since then, we try to see their family every chance we get. It is sad to realize that we have been only 90 minutes away from them for a year and have not managed to see them!! I will let you know when we plan that little adventure!

What we did decide to do was go to the Wild Animal Park. (Brent's idea since he didn't get to ride on the train last time we went) We had a blast and saw alot of animals. Judah really loves everything about the wild animal park, and doesn't mind going whenever we can make it. Here are some pics of the highlights:

Baby Elephant

Baby Rhino

Family of Rhinos with the baby!!

Getting ready for the train (who is more excited?)

First time around on the Giraffe

Second time on the frog

Third time, Roaring at me like a Lion

Feeding the deer in the petting corral

The big Silverback Male Gorilla

So tired from all the fun

I also have to give a shout out to Grandma Marsha! We got Judah's jammies in the mail this week, and He is super excited about them! He loves that he can get up from bed in his Little Einstein jammies and then watch it on T.V.!!!

And just because I can't resist, a couple pictures of the fur-kids. Moose found his new favorite napping place, Judahs dresser!

And Jager. So embarassed that I made him wear Judahs beanie!

And just so EVERY member of the Daniel family is showcased, a picture of my happy little boy with me!

what's up here?

not much! We had a pretty laid back week, which was kind of relaxing. A couple trips to the dog park, a few trips to the toy park (how we distinguish between the dog park and the one with the playground), family dinner at Outback, family trip to the mall, iGroup night at the Woolsey's, a trip to the outlet malls with Tami and kids, you get the idea! Every once in a while, it is nice to do nothing! And Brent really wants to go to Hollywood tomorrow, so a whole week of nothing was preparing us for a busy Saturday!
Oh yeah, and I am so thankful for strong antibiotics! Judah is all better (from croup and bronchitis) and I haven't had to wipe his nose all week! Now that is enough to make any mom happy!

So here are some pictures of nothing!

Jager's Golden Playday!

I took a risk. I joined a group.. .. ..ONLINE!! It is part of the Meetups.com website. In September I found a San Diego Golden Retriever Meetup Group! I know it sounds kind of cheesy, but I just thought it would be fun to do! So Saturday morning, We loaded up the van and headed down to SD for a multi purpose outing. The Meetup was scheduled to be at a dog park in Balboa park, which just happens to be right next to the San Diego Zoo. So I dropped Brent and Judah off and headed to the Dog Park! We had so much fun. It was quite a chilly day, but the dogs didn't care! There were roughly 50 people there with about the same number of dogs. Here are some of my favorite pics!

not yet...puhlease?

I know, everone on the face of the planet is overjoyed when the time comes for no more poopy diapers. But I am terrified. I have no clue why, I'm just scared. And I KNOW he is ready. He has been for a while, I just keep putting it off.. .. ..because I am a woooos! He tells me immediatley when he poops, and today, after his nap, he came up to me and said, "I have pee-pees. HOT pee-pees." which means he JUST peed. It was right after he did it. It has come to this. Please tell me that because he is so aware of what is going on it will be easy! Any advice would be appreciated.

In other news, Judah has really long hair. I already knew this, by the way, but just not that it was this long. He watches me every day when I put my hair back in a ponytail. Then the other day, he found a rubberband on the floor, and asked me to put in his hair. With Brent rolling his eyes in the distance, I did it! and what a cute little girl Judah makes!

mamma's helper

Just a quick post to say that Judah is feeling much better. He has even stopped screaming during the inhaler breathing tube thingy. And a new little saying has surfaced..."I Love_____" today he even said, "oh, my medicine? I love my medicine!" Even though he doesn't mean it, I think it is cute. He's trying! And today he wanted to "help" me make some mac and cheese for lunch. Not the first time, but the first time with pictures. This is one of his favorite things to do! I know it is not that safe, but at least he knows where the heat is coming from, and knows not to get near it. And it is easier than a step stool, b/c then he has to lean right over the open flame! So we figured this would actually be the safest way for him the "help"!!

"I'm cookin' !"

And just for you animal lovers out there, one quick pic of Moose.. .. .. he's getting too big too fast!

A Real Mom

That is what I feel like today. I know that I am a mom, and have been a mom for nearly 2 1/2 years now, but today I really feel like it. Why, you may ask? Well, I slept with Judah all night in my bed, brought the humidifier into my room, and when we woke up, I made an appt. to see his doctor this morning (even though it only seemed like he had a lingering cold) . He has had a nagging cough for the past couple of days, and a runny/stuffy nose for a couple of weeks.

So, reluctantly, we headed for the doctor this morning. I couldn't have been prouder of Judah at the Dr.'s! He sat so still for her, let her look in his ears, and even let her listen to his chest with the stethescope! He even breathed in and out when she asked him to. What an improvement from his last visits! And then the verdict....croup and bronchitis... Which took me completely by suprise! He has had croup before, and this didn't sound the same, so it never crossed my mind. So 2 trips to the pharmacy later, he is on some strong antibiotics along with an albuterol inhaler!

Which brings me to the next part of my day that made me feel like a real mom! He screamed so hard when he had to do the inhaler tube, he threw up.. .. .. twice. All over me, my hair, himself, the kitchen floor, his carpet... you get the idea. So ever since then, I have been cleaning everything, and doing laundry, and scrubbing the floors. I am TIRED, DIRTY, STINKY, and SWEATY... That is what being a mom is all about, right?

Happy Birthday Eden Bonne (12-29-06)

Judah's newest cousin, Eden, turned 1 while we were in Idaho! It was so fun to be able to be there for this special celebration. It meant alot to me, because I was supposed to be there when she was born. But Judah had come down with the flu, and my doctor and Heather's doctor both thought that I shouldn't be there to help be a coach, since I was probably carrying the flu also. So I didn't even get to see Eden until she was 4 days old! So I was happy I got to be there for this! Here are some cute pictures...I'm addicted to taking pictures of her!

By this point Eden had already popped 2 other balloons

Who, me?

These are some pictures from earlier that day. I just love the way the sunlight and shadows look on her sweet face!

It's a New Year...

We just got home this morning after driving 17 hours straight through the night. Surprisingly, Judah was an AWESOME traveler! He slept 81/2 hours straight through the night, which allowed us to just keep driving! We all had a wonderful time in Idaho, and for proof, pictures will come soon. I just need to do something now to help myself feel better. It was hard to leave all of my family and friends, and every time we are there, it feels like we are moving away all over again. So to help ease the pain, here is a list of things I really do love about living here in California.

1. being comfortable outside on New years day in a t-shirt and jeans. (oh yeah, and flip flops)

2. driving with the windows down.

3. Taking Judah and Jager to the dog park in the winter

4. Getting to the beach in 45 minutes.

5. All of my new friends :)

6. Truely authentic mexican food on just about every corner.

7. Starbucks within viewing distance of our apartment.

8. Pat and Oscars...(ask me when you come to visit....it is yummy)

9. our new church.

And there are many many more, too many to list. And then there is the list of things I miss about Idaho...but that would defeat the purpose of this post, and I would end up in tears!!
