HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! (Part One)

So I have like 2 other blogs to post, but this had to come first]]]]]]]]]]]]]]] (I know that looks like a typo, but I left it in B/C it is what the kitty did when he crawled across the computer up to my shoulder!!! and yes, that is one of the things I need to post a blog about...coming soon!!!)

Tonight we had fun. We decided to forgo the traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating and go to a halloween carnival put on by one of the biggest churches in the valley. But first Judah and I had to carve the pumpkins (which for some reason I had forgotten about until now!!!)

Judah kept telling me he wanted to cut the pumpkin open so that he could eat it, so I said ok!!

Judah wanted his to look like the "scary monster" from his Halloweiner book!

The finished products (in less than a half hour, I might add!!)

My favorite picture

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! (Part Two)

Then a little dinner, and off to the carnival! At first Judah was hesitant about putting on the hood and by the end of the night, he didn't want to take his "monkey suit" off!!

Steele was a froggie and A.J. was a princess, makeup and all!!! (weird, the same as Eden and Lydia!) They all had alot of fun together!!

Mr. Monkey in one of the jumpies! (One little monkey jumping on the bed!)

Making his way from game to game...

Happy Halloween everyone!! And a special Happy Birthday to my mom (tomorrow)!!! Love you mom, good to talk to you today. Love you and miss you!

A little bonus Halloween picture, a little preview of the blog to come!

It's not Van Gogh, but....

Tomorrow is our churches harvest festival, and Brent and I are in charge of the fishing booth. My responsiblity before hand was decorating the board for the kids to fish over. It turned out better than I thought it would...these pictures don't really do it justice, b/c of the flash. But it will have to do. I plan on taking more photos at the festival tomorrow, but I felt like posting these tonight, not that anyone ever looks at this thing... =P

Just some cute new pictures

I don't have the time right now for a REAL post, so I will just post some recent pictures!! Not a whole lot going on here, just some early mornings for Judah (we're going through a stage) and sleepless nights for me. (an insomnia problem =/ ) so here you go. Have a great weekend, all.

Feeding Time!

For as long as we've had Jäger, Judah has "helped" me get his food every day. Well, today, he wanted to do it by himself. I know this is just the tip of the iceberg of "I want to do it myself" situations! And much to my amazement, he did a great job! We always feed Jäger 3 cups of food, and together we would always count, 1,2,3, and then Judah would go put his bowl down for him. So today, he counted 1,2,3, and I had to convice him that Jäger needed a little more food, b/c Judah's scoops were significantly smaller than 1 cup!! But in the end everyone was happy! Judah got to do it himself, and Jäger got a specially prepared Judah breakfast!! Bon Appetit!!

p.s. those are Judah's (I-have-no-other-clean-jammies) Jammies, sorry if they hurt your eyes!!!

I've got a fever, and there's only one cure...

Got to love this...As a huge Will Farrell fan, this cracks me up...found this random series of pictures somewhere out there (cyberspace...) and made me laugh. This is one of my favorite skits from SNL.

Yesterday, Judah wanted to play Brent's cowbell (yes just like this one) and I told him I would go find him a drumstick, which is the proper thing to hit it with...and you know he didn't wait. He found his own implement of destruction....Brent's $20 shaker. And I bet you know the end of the story...the end of the shaker broke off, and hundreds of tiny little black beads went flying all over the living room. lovely.....and just when I'm trying to make lunch. We had a tough weekend, not at all how we planned.

Didn't go apple picking, it rained all night before, and during the day, so not the best day for an outdoor outing. But we did make it to the drum circle in Fallbrook. (hence why all the percussion instruments were out!!) And we had a really great day at church yesterday. so not all bad.

Hope this finds you all safe and sound. "Sounds like somebody has a case of the Monday's!"

the Kry and Kutless

Last night I ventured up to L.A. (Long Beach, technically) with my friend Emily to a little concert at a club. Her husband, Travis, who is our church's worship pastor, was sitting in playing lead guitar for the band, The Kry. Anyone heard of them? Brent actually has one of their cd's from the mid-90's. I never really knew much of their music, and though their albums might be a little outdated, their live sound on stage was AMAZING!! Travis is an amazing guitarist, and learned their set of songs in less than a week. He's played with them before, but this was my first time seeing him play outside of church. I just feel priveleged to have such an amazing musician as one of my really good friends!! They opened for Kutless, which if you don't know who that is, just think of most of the songs you like on air-1, and they play all of them!! At least that was true for me. I went into the concert thinking, "I have heard the name before, but I can't name one song that they play." And I came out of the concert saying, "All those songs I like are played by the same band?" Think of Strong Tower, Word of God Speak, Sea of Faces, and alot of worship songs gone hardcore, and you'll know who I'm talking about. Anyway, I had a really great time, got to hang out with some great friends, eat some great mexican food (hole-in-the-wall TACO shop) and listen to some really great music! And my wonderful, kind, loving husband made the whole thing possible by being SUPERDAD for the evening!!!

Other than that, not much going on here, as you can tell by my lack of posts. We are going up to Julian tomorrow, apple picking with Micah and Erica. That should be fun! I will post some pictures when we get back. Judah had is first, all to himself, ice cream sandwich this week. I can't believe he ate the whole thing...

Then we played hide behind the tree...not really hide and seek, because every time I say out loud, "Where's Judah?" he pops out and says, "Here I am!!"
All in all, a great week. Have a great weekend, all. We really miss all of you up in Idaho land!

2 year check-up

"I do all my own stunts"

Yesterday, Judah and I made the trek to his doctors office, 1/2 mile down the road for his 2 year check-up. He did really good! He let the doctor and nurse look him over and get all his measurements. weight: 33 lbs. height: 34 in. head size: 18 in. (it's like an orange on a toothpick) .
She said he was very healthy, and bright. yeah!! She also told me he should be saying at least 50 words, and I almost laughed out loud at her!! For those of you who have been around Judah lately know that he is a walking echo, repeating just about everything you say. He will even turn it around and use it correctly in a sentence. Holding back laughter, I told her that he is fairly proficient with his verbal skills and that he usually talks to us in 8-10 word sentences all the time.
Then came the part none of us like to talk about. THE SHOTS. Which apparently are given in the arms after 2 years old. *whimper* It was horrible. he got 2 in each arm, one of which was tetanus. He was crying so hard afterwards, and kept saying, OUCH OUCH OUCH. But being as prepared as I always am, (har-dee-har-har) I had some Skittles in my purse, and they quickly eased the pain. We have been alternating Tylenol and Advil since then, which he loves to drink out of the "teeny cup". And when he woke up from his nap today, he was saying OWWW, and I asked him what hurt, and he said it was his arms. POOR LITTLE BABY! I wish I could do more for him.
Nothing much else going on today, just hangin' out with the family. A little time spent at Walmart, and a trip to the lumber yard. lotsa fun. there really is'nt anything like doing nothing with the people you love the most!

Just a little preview of Halloween

something funny

just happened...Judah and I were eating lunch, and he looked at me and said "Nice to meet you." and stuck out his hand for me to shake. I about peed my pants laughing...I honestly don't know where he learned that, so I asked him, "Who taught that to you?" And he, very matter-of-factly said, "Benjy taught that to me."

no, it's not magic marker : yes, I'm crazy

For those of you who know me well, (or have had an earful from me) know that this has been a wish of mine for a while. I have toyed around with many different designs, shapes, colors, and ideas, and then I realized something. If all I do is think about it, I will keep changing my mind. I need to come up with one idea that I really like, and just DO IT. So today, I did. I won't bore you with "my story" behind the design, but if you really want to know, let ME know, and we can have that talk! The necessary details are:
1. Yes, it is a tattoo! *gasp*
2. Yes, it hurt...ALOT!
3. Yes, I LOVE IT!
4. Yes, it was a very sterile procedure
5. Yes, my mom knows =D
6. Yes, it kind of freaks me out that it is going to be there for the rest of my life, but that is what getting a tattoo is all about!
7. Judah kept wanting to touch it...
8. No, I don't konw if I'm getting any more...I'll let you know when I do though!!!

Cory, the tattoo artist, just starting the outline.
Yes, for those of you who have not seen me in pain, it's not pretty.

"I can't believe it is all over..." sighs Alicia. "I can't believe what a baby you are!" exclaims Cory
