Technology Child
Last night Judah picked up Brent's work phone and said, "I'm gonna call Daddy on the phone."
Then it hit me. He will never know what a rotary dial phone is, he will likely never know what a home phone is. He is growing up in a world where everyone has a phone in their pocket, and a computer on their lap, (even poor folks like us :)! ) where he can watch a DVD in the car, and talk to grandma and grandpa on a video phone (which we haven't set up yet, but we have one!) I remember when my 8th grade english teacher first required a paper turned in typed...and I had to use a typewriter because our family didn't have a computer yet. It makes me feel old..ME! ok, enough with all that. Here's the rest of the cell phone pictures.
Judah has recently become enamored with Brent's hard hat from work. This pic is from one night this week, we were playing outside when Brent got home, and Judah just had to put it on. And then he wanted to go drive Daddy's big work truck! What a little man!
Have a great weekend everyone. We're headed off to Dog Beach tomorrow, and I will post some pictures this weekend.
One last note. If you haven't visited the link on my sidebar that says, "Mason Jenkin's site" please do. Our dear friends, Eddie and Becky, and their kids, Jazzy and Mason need your prayers. Mason is doing much better, but still needs prayer every day, as do mom and dad! And if you don't know anything about any of this, go there anyway and educate yourself. It doesn't take long before you get emotionally invested in their story. They have two websites. The one I have a link to and Mason's caring bridge site . We miss you, Eddie and Becky, and love you.

I try...I really do
Judah and his friends, Steele and A.J.
So sorry about the lack of updates. We've been in the process of reformatting our computer, and just now got everything back up and running. Hopefully all of our work will not be in vain. So far things are better with the computer. hope I can post normal blog pictures.
Let's see...what's going on?!?! As my friend Kelly would say, a whole lotta nothing!
Last Thursday, we had our first BBQ for our new small group. And there was a great turn out. We are going to be having our small group at Gloria's house. She is a lady in our church that has a BEAUTIFUL house, and has offered to let us host our iGROUP (IMPACTgroup) at her house. Our little apartment has a hard time hosting the three of us at times, so we are very grateful!
Friday night I went to a Ladies Coffe and Dessert night for our church. It was so fun. And Sharon did an amazing job putting it all together. Emily and I sang a song together and I played my guitar. It felt good to play and sing again. I really miss being on a worship team. We sang a song called "You are the Reason." And after the ladies thing, Emily and I got to hang out at Applebees until past midnight! *gasp* I haven't been out that late in a long time, and it was fun!
Other than that, just more of nothing! We're trying to take it easy this week because Judah may or may not have a little stomach flu. He has been throwing up intermittenly, but he seems to feel fine. It's quite a mystery. No fever or lack of sleep or any other symptoms, so we'll see how the rest of the week goes.
Better get going while I can still post this. Talk to you all later!

What kind of ice cream are you?
This is hillarious...a website you can waste alot of time on, as I'm sure you know I did... it is http://www.blogthings.com/quizzes/ I took this quiz, and then, just for kicks, took it with what Brent might answer just to see if the compatibility lined up. and it did! Good thing I had a lame little on-line test to reassure me that we are meant for each other... let me know what tests you took and how they turned out. have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Judah!
What an amazing week! Sorry about the delay on this, but we have been busy! My mom got here on Thursday afternoon, and I haven't had a minute to sit down and update this until now! Judah and I just dropped her off at the airport, and we are a little sad.. :( Thanks, mom, for the visit and everything you did for us while you were here! We love you and miss you already.
So the Party...we had a blast. Thanks to some friends, we were able to have a pool party, and then we woke up to a rotten, windy, cold day. oh well...we had fun anyway. Judah got to hang out with all of his buds, and we had yet another excuse to hang out with our friends. We ate COSTCO pizza, and my favorite salad that I had to put together myself (due to the spinach being recalled) you should try this salad. Leafy green of your choice, crumbled feta cheese, candied pecans, dried cranberries, and rasberry vinaigrette dressing. Then we had Dirt Cake for dessert. It was soooooo good. and fun for the kids to eat dirt out of a pot! Then Judah opened all his presents. What Chaos! all in all, we had a great time.
Are we having fun yet?

Laundry Day & IMPACT cafe
Yesterday was laundry day, just thought I would share some pics of what Judah thinks the laundry basket is for!
I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my mom tomorrow. She is coming into town for Judah's birthday this weekend. So excited...can't even tell you... We're just finishing tidy-ing up the house before we go pick grandma up at the airport tomorrow. Everytime we get out of the car Judah askes "where's grandma Marsha?" He can't wait either! I will definitely post an update after his party this Friday.
Here are some pictures from Sunday morning at IMPACT. We just started the Impact Cafe. the weather has been so nice we decided to have it outside for people as they are coming into the auditorium.
I have been meaning to get some pictures of the service, but always get too caught up in everything to step aside and take some shots. Enjoy!

A very large nutshell
ok, so what I hat the most about technology is how random it is. I am online now, not in the safe mode, and everything is just hunky-dory! so I will just be happy and take advantage of it. this last week was so busy. It seems like everyday is full of activities, and if I do have a down day, we find something to do, or someone to hang out with.
Monday, Labor Day, we had a fun pool party at Erica Durham's parent's house. Micah and Erica (for those of you who know them) were here just for the summer before taking off with their ministry in the fall. After alot of prayer and thoughtful consideration, they decided to step out of that ministry and stay here. (little selfish yelps of joy from me). They have become very close friends since we have been down here, and we are glad to have them around a little more! All in all, it was a great day. We ate, swam, and hung out to our hearts contents!
Judah and I made it to the beach this week on Thursday with Tami and her kids. We went to a different beach this time, down in San Diego at Pacific Beach. I, of course, forgot the camera, but there are too many pictures of the beach anyway, right?
But I did get some pictures of our weekly (sometimes bi or tri-weekly) romp at the dog park. It really should be called the "dog and Judah park." It provides plenty of exersize and socialization for both! I really love it there. all the trees and nature remind me of home, and when I am hiking in the forest, I feel a little closer to Idaho.
I even got a chance to hang out with just the girls this weekend. In the end it ended up being just Tami and me, but that was just fine. and we were out without the kids!
Today we went to a kids movie premiere here in Temecula. A lady that the Paschalls know made an ABC movie and Alli (Paschall # 4) was in parts of it. It was at a real theatre, and Judah LOVED it! Following the premiere, we went to Alli's 5th birthday party at the park. Sorry to bore you all with all the mundane details, but that is what you signed up for! so that is our week in a nutshell, granted, a very large nutshell....maybe a coconut....
thanks for all the comments. it keeps me motivated to keep updating now that I know someone is reading. See ya lata...

computers+me=screaming-crying fit
sorry about the lack of posts. this will be short because I am not sure how long it will be available! just wanted to let you all know (whoever actually checks this!) we are all good over here. just trudging through some computer difficulties. our internet was down, and now we have to reformat our entire computer and lose it all. I was on my phone with 2 companies, 5 people, in 3 different countries today for 5 (YES 5) hours trying to figure out what is wrong with our computer. needless to say, I have cried today, hard. and many times. nothing infuriates me more than confusing technology that is WAY OVER MY HEAD. sorry, but I did state that this blog was partially for me to vent..... hopefully, in the nest few days everything will be back to normal and i can post a real blog with PICTURES. until then...see ya lata alligata.
