Hiking

On Saturday, the weather was cool and overcast, but didn't feel like rain, so off we headed to the mountains to find a new trailhead to some waterfalls. Well, 50 bazillion wrong turns later (forest service website directions were waaaayyyy off) we found ourselves here!

We had read that it was a pleasant 35 minute hike to the falls, so after about 45 minutes of the trail, and no falls, we decided to stop here and eat some lunch!

Jager ate what we dropped, and then took a little dip in the creek.

Jager says, life is rough...off leash hiking and swimming in creeks, I am used and abused...

Time to head back...maybe we'll find the "falls" another day.

Judah was a really great hiker! He kept up most of the way, riding on Daddy's shoulders only part of the way back. I think we are going back this weekend to find the actual falls. (and maybe I'll call the forest service and get the real directions this time!)

More pics from the hike!

some new things

about Judah:

**He decided one day that he can hop on one foot.

**He prayed for his dinner all by himself. It was really cute. I made him a plate of left-over mac and cheese, and I looked over , and he had his hands folded and hear bowed, and was praying....what a sweet little man.

**He can now put on not only flip-flops by himself, but also his tennis shoes!

**He really likes "playing" baseball. And he can really hit it about 50% of the time! (If I throw the ball right at the bat!)

**Books are all the rage right now. We are up to about 15 a day....and not little baord books anymore. Real paper page books that take a little more effort. Here is a pic of him reading with Pastor Donn who was here for a little visit this last weekend.

**He got a new toy today....a Stomp Rocket (ultra)...the best $14 I ever spent. Really, if you have a Costco membership, go buy one of them. NO batteries, and he can do it all by himself, it is really cool to see him be so independant!

what else.. ... ....

How about a family update....

Some of our friends are going through a really tought time right now, their 1 1/2 year old daughter is really sick with Auto Immune Suppressed Hepatitus. Because of this, she can't be on her allergy medicine, and is really showing her allergies to their dog, Gracie, who just happens to be Jager's half sister. So I offered to take Gracie for them, until things settle down, and their daughter can be around Gracie again. And Guiness is still here, so.....if you're counting, that brings the total up to 3 dogs here right now....Here is a pic of Gracie with Jager from last fall...

Brent has the whole weekend off, and we were going to maybe go hiking tomorrow, and it has been raining all day. GRRRRRR.....now what can we do that will give the dogs some exercise without having our house smell of dirty wet dogs? Feel free to make suggestions!

Some pictures Chris took of me and the boys....

Apparently, Judah knows Tai Chi.

Have a great weekend!

Getting back to normal....

Grandma Debbie left yesterday. We were sad to see her go, but we all had a great time with her here! More to come later, just some new pictures for now. Guiness is going to his new forever home this weekend, so I will have pics of that later. And Pastor Mogford is flying in this weekend for our Sunday Service and our first Baptism service. I will try to remember to take pictures of all that too! Have a great Weekend everyone!

Breathe it in.. ... ....

.... ... ..the crisp ocean air. What a fantastic time we has at Dog Beach this Saturday. Judah was so excited to dig in the sand and play in the water. It was alot warmer than we thought it would be, and turned out to be beautiful! And Jager, or course, was overjoyed! He actually went swimming and hoping over all the waves to fetch his ball. He was so proud of himself for figuring it out! Here are some (well, lots) of the pictures of all the boys

Then there's this. Who is with me? I think there should be signs on the back of public restroom stalls telling you it is an automatically flushing toilet so that you can adequately perpare yourself....We were at the grocery store tonight, and while Brent was checking out with Judah, I went to the bathroom. And it flushed, seriously, the SECOND my rear was off the seat....if I hadn't have just peed, I would have had an accident right then and there...it scared me so bad, I almost hit my head on the stall door!! LOVELY!

Oh, and I almost forgot. I took this silly little video of Jager digging! it is just with the digital camera, no sound, probably bad quality, but fairly cute!
